Mess Perfect 2 - 084 by Epantiras Mess Perfect 2 - 084 by Epantiras
**DO NOT COPY, TRACE, STEAL, CLAIM AS YOUR OWN, UPLOAD ELSEWHERE ELSE WITHOUT PERMISSION BLAH BLAH BLAH**

On the one hand, I was happy Jack wasn't romanceable by FemShep because everyone was expecting her to be ME2 resident lesbian fanservice for sweaty male teenagers; instead she turned out to be a deep and complex character.
On the other hand... DAMMIT JACK Y U NO ROMANCEABLE BY FEMSHEP!?

Got a favourite shot you'd like to see as wallpaper? Even from older pages? Let me know!

If it were like Dragon Age two, they would so have "rivalry" sex. I would not be surprised.

Well, the sexual tension between her and Miranda, though... during the party at Shep's apartment. Ho boy.

This may be a late reply, but I feel it appropriate.

Jack claims to be straight, but she seems to be quite open about possibly having sex with another woman. If you heard some of what she say during the Citadel DLC for ME3, she actually says that "If [she] were a little drunker and knew how to unzip that suit..."

This was actually directed at Tali if she were invited to the party.

So Jack could be bisexual, but she seems like the kind that would need some "motivation".

I wanted her and my femshep to hook up after discovering she was a complex character. I don't think you play hours of ME2 just for "lesbian fanservice for sweaty male teenagers" since there is nothing like that at the romance scene.

Whoa, calm down. I said that because that was the way she acted. I only played through once, and I certainly didn't romance Jack. I honestly thought that she would kill my shep during sex with a singularity or some shit. Unfortunately, I made a mistake in dialogue, and now whenever I talk to her, I get a resounding "Fuck off!"

Point being that she scares me, so I don't really care about her sexuality, so long as she doesn't crush my head with those biotic legs of hers. D:

That can mean that she felt invited, but that they had the hidden motivation of doing so to get her involved in their criminal activities. Jack mentions several times how she was manipulated in to joining criminal gangs, and even a cult one time, because they wanted her for her biotic power.

Secondly, Jack has always been searching for a place to belong, even if she denies it. She may have done anything to fit in. I'm not saying homosexuals and bisexuals are just heterosexuals who haven't found a place where they feel they belong. I'm saying that this was the case for Jack specifically.

Thirdly, if one insists that Jack did have sex with this woman, you could argue that Jack was experimenting, and found that she is indeed heterosexual (I don't think this is insulting to anyone, and if it is, I apologize). This would explain Jack mentioning Murtock, responding only to MaleShep, and declining FemShep.

Lastly, your comment about seeming like "a girl that swung both ways" is what I mean when I say that it's important to detach stereotype from sexuality. I have personally heard from lesbians who were pleased that Jack is straight, because it removes her from the stereotype that all girls who look like her are gay or bi. This is simply not true.

She said, "I felt like they welcomed me. But what they really did was welcome me into their bed." Well, even though she was heterosexual in ME2, she always struck me as a girl that swung both ways, if you get my meaning. Unfortunately, I screwed up in dialogue with her, and now she just tells me to fuck off.

I don't think so. She says she "got in to bed" with a girl and her boyfriend, but "getting in to bed with someone" is an expression. She was getting comfy with them, because they gave her a place where she felt she belonged. She only ever mentions Murtock, and she's interested in MaleShep, but rejects FemShep.

I like that Jack is heterosexual. I don't say this because I want to spite people who wanted to romance her with FemShep. I just think it's important to fight to detach stereotypes from sexuality.

Oh but there was a gay male. Hendel Mitra in the books, he was stated as being homosexual at least three times.

That is until the lasted book, Deception. Which was written by a different guy. Hendel oogles some Asari.

But I've a more personal reason for objecting to your viewpoint. *rushes to Notes* It's nothing insulting/hostile, no worries. :D

I called her "lesbian fanservice" not because of bisexuality, but because the Mass Effect franchise tends to have lesbians (read "asari") just to get the attention of guys. Want a proof? There are no male gays in Mass Effect. Characters like the asari consort were in the game just to rub herself against Shepard and give surprise sex should the player choose the renegade option.
The Dragon Age franchise is different, since there are various degrees of homosexuality for both genders and those characters are treated like "real people" and not like pure fanservice.

So I'm reading your comics because "Hey, awesome fun times! :D" and they are funny as hell and awesome. However...

"Resident lesbian fanservice for sweaty male teenagers; instead she turned out to be a deep and complex character."

I respectfully disagree that a character somehow being bisexual somehow negates their capacity to be a deep and complex character. ;)

And now, on to the next pages! :sprint:

I was happy to see the limits in ME2. If I had ever wanted a lesbian relationship it would've been with Jack. She's my favorite female character(Aside from Kasumi), but I don't normally find those relationships appealing.

This is amazing. It never fails to make me laugh. Jack's personality in the game and her personality here...match up perfectly!! :D And Miranda...you're still a cold, bitch who reminds me of GLaDos. Honestly, your Shepard is awesome. Her reactions are amazing, even though they don't happen in the game. Despite the fact they should...*glares at her Shepard* Why you no awesome?! Why you so emotionally awkward in game?!

Anyway...I do have a favorite scene from this that I would like to see as a wallpaper. It's not that far back, from when Shepard did Jacob's assignment. Shepard was comparing the feral inhabitants to the crew of the Normandy at breakfast. That is a must have...if it's not too much trouble. ^^;

I agree. They can call them mono-gendered but they still look like women. Human woman with asari who looks almost exactly like a woman=space lesbians. I'm sure there would be a whole lot more fire if the asari were mono-gendered but looked like manly men. :strong:

If they didn't want to touch the same-sex relationship bit, then I don't get why they bothered with the asari. Call them mono-gendered or freaking non-gender specific, a space lesbian is still a space lesbian no matter what way you turn her.

To be fair, the DA codex admits that the rate of bisexuality is high in the universe, and even encouraged among groups they don't want reproducing ie. mages. Would our world be different if bisexuality was encouraged by religion? Who knows.
Considering how many fans there are of these slash pairings, Bioware gets a win/win. Look progressive and not have to do more work. ;) Reeeeeeally easy to slap a line or two more dialogue in the game and *poof!* twice as many LIs!
