On the one hand, I was happy Jack wasn't romanceable by FemShep because everyone was expecting her to be ME2 resident lesbian fanservice for sweaty male teenagers; instead she turned out to be a deep and complex character.
On the other hand... DAMMIT JACK Y U NO ROMANCEABLE BY FEMSHEP!?
Got a favourite shot you'd like to see as wallpaper? Even from older pages? Let me know!
"Jack! WHY WONT YOU LOVE ME?! T_T"
This may be a late reply, but I feel it appropriate.
Jack claims to be straight, but she seems to be quite open about possibly having sex with another woman. If you heard some of what she say during the Citadel DLC for ME3, she actually says that "If [she] were a little drunker and knew how to unzip that suit..."
This was actually directed at Tali if she were invited to the party.
So Jack could be bisexual, but she seems like the kind that would need some "motivation".
Only really worked with MShep.
Yeah there were a lot of disapointed people.
Point being that she scares me, so I don't really care about her sexuality, so long as she doesn't crush my head with those biotic legs of hers. D:
Secondly, Jack has always been searching for a place to belong, even if she denies it. She may have done anything to fit in. I'm not saying homosexuals and bisexuals are just heterosexuals who haven't found a place where they feel they belong. I'm saying that this was the case for Jack specifically.
Thirdly, if one insists that Jack did have sex with this woman, you could argue that Jack was experimenting, and found that she is indeed heterosexual (I don't think this is insulting to anyone, and if it is, I apologize). This would explain Jack mentioning Murtock, responding only to MaleShep, and declining FemShep.
Lastly, your comment about seeming like "a girl that swung both ways" is what I mean when I say that it's important to detach stereotype from sexuality. I have personally heard from lesbians who were pleased that Jack is straight, because it removes her from the stereotype that all girls who look like her are gay or bi. This is simply not true.
I like that Jack is heterosexual. I don't say this because I want to spite people who wanted to romance her with FemShep. I just think it's important to fight to detach stereotypes from sexuality.
That is until the lasted book, Deception. Which was written by a different guy. Hendel oogles some Asari.
But I've a more personal reason for objecting to your viewpoint. *rushes to Notes* It's nothing insulting/hostile, no worries.
The Dragon Age franchise is different, since there are various degrees of homosexuality for both genders and those characters are treated like "real people" and not like pure fanservice.
"Resident lesbian fanservice for sweaty male teenagers; instead she turned out to be a deep and complex character."
I respectfully disagree that a character somehow being bisexual somehow negates their capacity to be a deep and complex character.
And now, on to the next pages!
I'm happy romancing her with my male Shepard.
If that's not a problem. I thought the comparison between the two was funny.
Anyway...I do have a favorite scene from this that I would like to see as a wallpaper. It's not that far back, from when Shepard did Jacob's assignment. Shepard was comparing the feral inhabitants to the crew of the Normandy at breakfast. That is a must have...if it's not too much trouble.
I nerd raged so hard when I found out there was hidden algorithms in ME1 to same sex romance Kadian and Ash. It was suppose to be able to happen and then Bioware backed out cuz their big action hero can't be a homosexual. Still can't in ME2...
Considering how many fans there are of these slash pairings, Bioware gets a win/win. Look progressive and not have to do more work. Reeeeeeally easy to slap a line or two more dialogue in the game and *poof!* twice as many LIs!
*cough* Anyway, poor shep, no love for you...
